The Division of General Pediatric Surgery offers a wide range of services. Skilled and specialized UCMG surgeons utilize the latest technology and clinical techniques to provide care to neonates, infants, children and adolescents with surgical problems. This includes patients with common surgical conditions such as hernias, undescended testis, "lumps and bumps," appendicitis, pyloric stenosis and patients with surgical infection. In addition, newborns with complex congenital anomalies such as esophageal and intestinal atresia, imperforate anus, omphalocele, gastroschisis, diaphragmatic hernia and other congenital anomalies are seen and treated. Comprehensive care is provided to patients with benign and malignant tumors of soft tissues, such as kidney, liver, testis and other organs in the abdominal and chest cavities, extremities and head and neck area. UCMG physicians in the Divison of Pediatric Surgery also see outpatients in Encino and perform inpatient consults at hospitals throughout the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys, the Los Angeles basin and the Oxnard area.
