The Division of Clinical Immunology and Allergy physicians provide a full range of personalized clinical service for patients with allergic and immune deficiency diseases. We closely work with each patient's primary care physician as an integral part of the care we provide.
UCMG physicians in the Divison of Clinical Immunology and Allergy also see patients in offices in West Hills and at USC Main Campus.
Description of Programs and Services
- Allergy Services
Special clinical services are available for all allergic diseases including asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, drug and stinging insect sensitivity and food allergy. Specific services encompass clinical evaluation, laboratory investigation including spirometry and sting and blood tests for allergic sensitivities. We utilize all relevant treatment modalities including pharmacotherapy, immuno-therapy, dietary manipulation and allergen/irritant avoidance measures.
- Clinical Immunology Service
Our physicians use advanced clinical and medical techniques to diagnose, evaluate and manage primary and acquired immune deficiency disorders (AIDS) in children. Capabilities include a full array of T-cell, B-cell, phagocytic cell and complement assays.
- Childrens AIDS Center
The Childrens AIDS Center is a multidisciplinary, coordinated and comprehensive program for the treatment of AIDS and HIV infections. Program physicians focus on the multiple and unique needs of HIV-infected children through a family-centered approach. Combining a commitment to research and education that results in the highest quality clinical care, the Childrens AIDS Center offers patients hope of early detection, prompt treatment, fewer opportunistic infections and a better quality of life. The program is a designated AIDS Clinical Trial Unit (ACTU) through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
- Special Facilities
We provide office pediatric spirometry, intravenous immunoglobulin infusions and full home health care arrangements for children with catastrophic immune deficiencies.
